THE WOMAN OF THE CROWD
‘The Woman of the Crowd’ was selected as a finalist in the eighth annual Mohawk Show, 2007. Susan Cianciolo’s distinct determination to not work within the confines of the fashion world and it’s production requirements was a guiding influence of the book’s design. The exhibition catalogue reflects hybrid graphic form—using collage, and original sketches and notes to build up layers of material.

WORK SHOP
Like a true deconstructivist, Susan Cianciolo takes existing garments apart and reconstructs them. Her process led us to design in the spirit of an artist book. The reproduction of source materials transitioned from one color to four color reflecting the preliminary sketch through to finished product. The catalogue was cloth bound with stamped typography and a printed wrap. A limited editon, acknowledging the hand-made, was then presented in a rubber-stamped customized cloth bag finished with a red ribbon.
