Thomas Ruff

ma.r.s. Substrats jpegs

A common cover, zigzagging in structure, weaves two exhibition catalogues together as one. The cover design functions to open from opposing ends with each end existing as its own self-contained cover. One cover is black and one cover is white. They are designed to read together or independently. Both books represent the works of artist Thomas Ruff and were exhibited simultaneously at two different locations at Gagosian London. An oversized bellyband printed with one of the artist’s 3-D images encases the books. A pair of 3-D glasses is included with the ma.r.s book, which also includes additional 3-D images that can be viewed with the glasses.
